substack #23
Hi, I’m Bianca. Queer - Mixed - Second Gen - Muslim(ish) - Artist, Professor, & Creative Director/Strategist living in Los Angeles. In case you’re new here or a reminder could help, this newsletter began as an exploration of figuring shit out, one day at a time. If you look forward to these newsletters and want to support my ongoing work you can upgrade to a paid subscription.
It’s our Anniversary!
I’ve officially been writing this newsletter for one year. Mash'Allah!!!
Thank you all for being here. This newsletter began as an exercise in progress not perfection but quickly became a project that I love growing with. In honor of that growth - I’m trying on some new things, so here’s a bit of housekeeping.
One newsletter a month will stay free and accessible to all readers. As always, you’ll still get general updates, some thoughts, and a few helpful resources. If you’ve loved reading this over the past year, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription.
Paid subscribers will now get access to new sections. Paid subscribers get full access to these sections:

🎨 Save the Opening Date: October 7, 2023
I’ll be showing work for CIRCA - the first queer histories festival in the United States, featuring programs and events held across Los Angeles County during LGBTQ+ History Month this October 2023.
Founded in 1952, ONE Archives Foundation is the oldest active LGBTQ+ organization in the country, dedicated to telling LGBTQ+ history and stories through education, arts, and social justice programs. During its inaugural festival, Circa aims to showcase the trailblazing history and vibrant cultural contributions of the LGBTQ+ community through the lens of present-day challenges and triumphs.
Stay tuned for sneak peeks, updates, collaboration opportunities, and early announcements!
Thank you to all the new subscribers! So happy to have you join me here. Especially Meagan (check out her blog - Single Girl Club), who upgraded to a paid subscription. Appreciate you!
Cancer Szn 🦀
In honor of Cancer Season (me season! the most wonderful time of year!) here’s a smattering of what I’ve been listening to lately. I’m not really an astrologer, I’m just a queer on the internet. But I do know that today marks the New Moon in Cancer and new moons are typically moments to cultivate new beginnings. I’m wishing you all restful days and peace of heart as you navigate whatever new things are coming to the surface for you.
